ART WALK SUBCOMMITTEE

  • Installed: MARE & FOAL on back pad area at Hopper Creek Park.

  • Installed:  DANCING BUTTERFLIES at Yount & Washington on March 4.

  • Sculpture Moves:  TREBLE CLEF from Petit Logis to Hopper Creek Park front pad & BUILDING UP from Yount & Washington to Petit Logis. We will connect power to light up the sculpture.

  • Cleaning of Sculptures:   Our sculptures are filthy. They are really in dire need of regular cleaning. Road and atmospheric dust/dirt and weather affect them and though we think rain washes them, the rain only creates a residue that dulls the sculptures. The At Walk is being continually promoted and it garners much attention. Our Art Walk Committee would like to establish regular cleaning and/or power washing of all sculptures on our Art Walk. A quarterly cleaning calendar is reasonable. In our FY 2021-2022 budget we have $1100 left so we recommend using the funds currently in the budget to begin the cleaning program ASAP. To be explored further with Sam.

  • Activate electricity at YELLOW SPHERE location at Mulberry & Washington. The power is there but needs to be evaluated for damage.  (Staff has reached out to Vintage Estates and are awaiting a response)

  •  We need new Art Calls for Art Walk sculpture applications
